How to use PHINE
News
What is it
The news function allows you inform the wider PHINE coomunity about your group, activities or related news. News posted from the group populates your group pages and also the news pages of PHINE.
How it works
Select news from the group menu. Select add news and you will be presented with a form.
Title is the title for the news item
Summary is the short description that appears next to the news item in lists, a short paragraph overview should be more than enough.
Body is where tha main content is posted for your news item. If you need help formatting this page view the formatting help guide.
Organisation is optional but allows you to associate a news item with your organisation. Do not use this is the news item is posted on behalf of others.
Group will by default be set to associate the news item with your group.
Publish Date will be set to the current date and nearest time by default. If you'd like to create an article which you would like to 'go live' at a different time adjust accordingly.
Display You can choose to remove you news item form the PHINE homepage by selecting this option.
Click save and you will exit the edit mode. To edit the news item select edit from the admin menu at the foot of the news item.
If you would like to add links to other wedbsite you can do this by selecting the add related link item from the admin menu at the foot of the page. This opens up:
- Link URL is where you load the link including the http section.
- Title is the name which will be displayed for the link.
- Description is optional but allows you to describe the link.
By default, news items created through the group function will generate a link back to that group and diplay the image of that group if it has one.
